Bill de Blasio has shown he is the man of the people so far. Unlike Michael Bloomberg who managed from the executive office showing up for photo-ops and inspirational moments de Blasio is actually appearing to care rather than just manage.
Him cleaning his Brooklyn side walk on Jan 3 along with the rest of the city trying to dig out was like Lenin who–as the legends go–provided help during the Subbotniks (Saturday volunteer cleaning).
Americans, don’t get crazy, I am not promoting communism or comparing de Blasio to Lenin. But caring for social issues by example does represent a certain type of social democracy that early Bolsheviks had followed at one time or another.
Anyway, thumbs up for good response for the snow storm, even in Manhattan my East 12th St got plowed although not as fast as Queens. Under Bloomberg we surely got too privileged for the new people’s mayor.
